- The Lead, Supplier Development is responsible for executing the overall short and long-term sourcing strategy for assigned categories. This person will assist in driving Exclusive Brands (ExB) sourcing strategies that align to the category business goals and enterprise strategy. This role will collaborate with global cross-functional teams located throughout North America and Asia for the execution of the category sourcing strategy for existing products while also working with Product Development to create innovative products. This person will manage a supplier matrix and country of production strategies that elevate performance, grow profit, drive speed to market, and deliver on sustainability commitments. This role will ensure critical business metrics are met while influencing future growth strategies. This person is always looking for creative ideas for improvements, innovation, and enhancing the customer experience.
- Supplier Development
- Manage a supplier matrix and country of production strategy that achieves global balance, optimal performance, and delivers on cost, quality, and responsible sourcing expectations.
- Drive sourcing strategies that align to strategic business goals and needs of the category while using negotiation skills to achieve financial plans.
- Will continuously develop, coach, and manage relationships with suppliers.
- Supplier Lifecycle Management that includes product life cycle management, cost management/improvement, contract management, country of production, etc.
- Category Development
- Be a category and/or industry expert knowing your category and suppliers always thinking what is next for continued profitable growth.
- Negotiate cost, flexibility and other identified priorities with suppliers. Regular review and negotiate cost decrease with suppliers.
- Analyze cost components and the global raw material market to provide data to support negotiations.
- Build and present costing profitability scenarios and options to category management and Exclusive Brands (ExB) cross-functional team.
- Provide market, industry and competitive expertise and analysis to drive product and supplier positioning.
- Collaborate
- This role will foster collaboration with the ExB cross functional team to identify, engage, and build strategic relationships with world class suppliers and factories across the globe.
- Will work with the Category Management and the Exclusive Brands cross functional team to deliver the category strategy for Exclusive Brands and drive operational excellence through customer understanding, market trends, industry knowledge and supplier performance management. Support Category Management and Supplier Development team strategy.
- Will design, develop, launch, schedule control and manage products that meet and exceed category expectations working with product development, cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Complete tasks assigned by supervisors.
- Fluent in Chinese or English, fluent in speaking, listening, reading, and writing
- 3 or more years of direct sourcing, supply chain, factory operation, merchandising and vendor management experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong planning and organizational skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Specialized with Excel
