Mechanical Design Engineer

• Perform fan and heater selection using Howden’s proprietary in-house software.
• Design and develop retrofit solutions for centrifugal fans based on site-specific requirements and performance targets.
• Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Conduct advanced engineering simulations and calculations, including FEA for structural, thermal, and vibration analysis, to ensure design robustness and reliability.

• Collaborate with the sales and proposals team to provide technical input during the bidding phase.
• Participate in site investigations to assess existing equipment and gather critical data for retrofit design.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and field service teams to ensure smooth execution and delivery of retrofit projects.

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design reports, FEA analysis results, and installation guidelines.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and internal quality procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably involving rotating equipment or centrifugal fans.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools and mechanical design software.
• Strong expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using tools such as Inventor Nastran, ANSYS, or similar.
• Solid understanding of fan performance principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with retrofit projects or field-based engineering is a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Southeast Asia for site visits and project support
