- Operating Injection Molding Machines: Molding Technicians operate injection molding machines to produce plastic parts and components according to specifications. They monitor the entire process, including temperature control, pressure, and speed of the machine, to ensure quality products.
- Maintaining Equipment: Molding Technicians inspect and repair or replace worn out or broken parts in the injection molding machines. They also lubricate moving parts regularly to prevent wear and tear.
- Assembling Products: After the plastic parts have been produced, Molding Technicians assemble them into finished products using hand tools and other equipment.
- Quality Control: Molding Technicians check the quality of the plastic parts and components by comparing them to specifications. If necessary, they adjust the machines to improve the product's dimensions, shape, or appearance.
- Monitoring Processes: Molding Technicians closely monitor the production processes to identify any issues or problems that may arise. They take corrective action as needed to ensure that the products meet the required standards.
- Maintaining Work Area Cleanliness: Molding Technicians keep the work area clean and organized by removing waste materials and empty containers. They also sweep the floor and wipe down equipment periodically to prevent dust buildup.
- Managing Inventory: Molding Technicians track the amount of raw materials used during production and update inventory records accordingly. They also label and package finished products for storage or shipment.
- Graduated from a vocational school or higher with a major related to engineering or technical fields.
- Previous Experience: No prior experience is required, but it can be beneficial. Relevant training or certification in injection molding technology can also enhance one's chances of being hired.
- Safety Awareness: Molding Technicians must follow all safety guidelines and regulations when working with potentially hazardous chemicals and machinery.
