The Director of Data Platform Engineering is responsible for defining, building, and scaling the enterprise data platform that powers analytics, risk, fraud, AI/ML, and regulatory reporting for this leading international fintech.This role leads data platform strategy and execution, ensuring high reliability, security, scalability, and regulatory compliance across cloud-native data infrastructure.

Own the end‑to‑end data platform strategy and architecture, delivering scalable cloud‑native solutions across batch and real‑time data.
Define platform standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps, driving adoption of modern data technologies.
Lead the build and operation of enterprise data platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and automation.
Drive platform engineering excellence, including CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code, monitoring, and observability.
Embed data governance, security, and compliance by design, ensuring regulatory readiness through strong access controls, data quality, and auditability.
Partner with Risk and Security teams to meet compliance and audit requirements.
Build and lead high‑performing data platform engineering teams, setting strong engineering standards and developing talent.
Partner with Product, Analytics, AI/ML, and Business leaders to deliver data capabilities with clear business impact.
Represent data platform engineering in senior leadership forums and technology governance bodies.

12+ years in data or platform engineering, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles
Proven experience building and scaling large‑scale cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Strong expertise in data lake/lakehouse architectures, batch & streaming processing, and distributed systems
Experience operating in regulated environments, with solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance
Track record of leading senior, multi‑disciplinary engineering teams
Experience in fintech, digital banking, or financial services
Strategic, execution‑focused leader with strong communication, influence, and decision‑making skills
