
Assistant Manager, Controllership

- Lead month-end close activities, variance analysis, and preparation of and accurate financial statements.
- Review automated entries and perform necessary adjustments to ensure completeness and compliance with IFRS and VAS.
- Monitor deliverables from Shared Service Centers (Malaysia, Philippines), identify misstatements, and coordinate corrections.
- Review P&L and entity-level financials for accuracy, completeness, and clear presentation to management.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal controls, SOX requirements, and external audit standards.
- Manage statutory audit processes end-to-end for assigned legal entities.
- Ensure compliance with both IFRS and VAS, balancing accounting standards with tax regulations and operational realities.
- Oversee SBV filings for loan movements.
- Ensure internal controls within the business across areas such as credit terms, down payments, payment terms.
- Provide accounting and fund flow advisory for new product launches, ensuring readiness of automated accounting entries pre-launch.
- Balance compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and budgetary goals in evaluating new projects.
- Review and advise for new business partnerships, new business ideas and projects
- Partner with the Tax, Legal and FP&A team to ensure provide meaningful insights, and support decision-making with evidence-based financial explanations.
- Guide junior team members where required, promoting best practices and learning.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Head of Controllership.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in financial or business accounting, including experience supporting business teams in multinational environments.
- Technical accounting knowledge with the ability to translate complex business inquiries into practical financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems and familiarity with financial reporting processes across multiple entities.
- Experience identifying risks, raise concerns, and highlight opportunities for improvement in financial and operational processes.
- A continuous improvement mindset - not only performing tasks but challenging existing practices, proposing solutions, and finding ways to increase efficiency without compromising compliance.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA Australia, ICAEW, or Vietnamese CPA/Chief Accountant license.
- At least 2 years of prior experience in a Big 4 audit firm, with exposure to multinational clients.
- Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of SQL or other data query tools; experience with Power BI or other big data visualization tools.
- Experience in FMCG, Retail, Fintech, or Startup industries, demonstrating to dynamic and complex business models.
