To find out more about RMIT Vietnam and our current vacancies, please visit our website:POSITION SUMMARYThe Associate Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the University, in International Business areas and disciplines related to their field of expertise. Specifically, the Associate Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Diploma programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly and/or professional capabilities. The Associate Lecturer is expected to be able to teach different courses in the program including Global Business, Global Trade Operations, Political Economy of Global Business, Cross Cultural Management and Global Corporate Responsibility. The Associate Lecturer is also expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. The Associate Lecturer is expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation. The Associate Lecturer may be responsible for course coordination.REPORTING LINEReports to: Senior Program Manager, International BusinessIndirectly reports to: Head of Department, ManagementKEY ACCOUNTABILITIESUndertake independent teaching at undergraduate level including designing, conducting and moderating assessment; implementing improvements informed by course evaluation activities and student feedback.Grade assessments and contribute to the development of teaching materials and curriculum.Undertake administration duties, which may include course coordination role or management of a small award program.Adhere to the requirements of the Academic Expectations and Development Framework of RMIT Vietnam.KEY SELECTION CRITERIAMaster/ PhD qualification in relevant disciplines.Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials.Ability to undertake course coordination role.Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.Have strong and effective networks, especially with external industry partners who can collaborate and support the program, department and the school.Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with students, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.Recent and sustained performance regarding student outcomes, student experience and feedback; combined with experience and skill in a range of teaching settings.Ability to operate within own discipline and cross-disciplinary/multidisciplinary teams to achieve department andUniversity strategic outcomes.Ability to work with external partners, industries, organisations and communities and can operate effectively to address complex issues or seek opportunities.Ability to motivate, develop and inspire others through discipline leadership in the University environment.Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position as per the RMIT Behavioural Capability Framework (Connectedness, Commitment to Excellence – Improve and Simplify; Imagination and Innovation; Impact; Inclusion; Agility).Please noteEnglish is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS Academic 7.0 and with no band less than 6.5 (or equivalent).For Academic Teaching Staff, English Language Proficiency may be proven by showing completion of Ph.D. and/or a Master's qualification whilst being instructed through the medium of English, supported by the experience of teaching in an English-speaking environment for the past 24 months.SALARYVietnamese Staff: VND hourly rate per actual working hourAssociate Lecturer: VND663,000 gross/ hourLecturer: VND826,000 gross/ hourThe hourly rate you receive is based on an “actual working hour”.For every hour of teaching, you will be paid for two hours.
