Capella Hanoi is seeking an exceptional Assistant Director of Sales to lead our international leisure sales strategy and oversee the entire sales team. This role requires a commercially sophisticated leader who can manage global markets while mentoring and developing a high-performing team.THE ROLE
  • Leading and manage all sales activities pertaining to Wholesale (Leisure & Travel Trade), Consortia & Corporate Travel and Group business (Corporate Groups, Social Gathering Groups, Tour Groups), Event Sales
  • Act as the point of contact for Wholesale market clients, Corporate Travel clients, Group and Event clients and highly contribute to business generation (with own quota and goal assigned)
  • Ensure that all direct sales activities align with the Sales strategies
  • Set financial targets and quotas for the team and for herself/himself and review quarterly and take action if goals are not met
  • Responsible to achieve assigned individual quota and revenue goal to maximize profit generation
  • Provide leadership, clear vision and direction to team
  • Assist DOSM in preparing annual Rooms Budget by business segment and related business plan
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the department and ensure that all team members comply with service standards, departmental policies and operating procedures set by the hotel
  • Proactively identify, qualify, and solicit new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals by building network and relationships with higher-profile clientele to generate sales leads in the above listed business segments
  • Perform independently competitive analysis on competitor's strengths and weaknesses to implement sales projects to gain higher market shares
  • Maintain a clean and updated customer database for all above listed business segments at all times and conduct monthly checks to ensure files are kept up to date at all times
  • Prospect new leisure businesses through phone solicitation, on-site sales calls, conducing site-visits, attend trade shows
  • Able to draft and develop action plans and tactical plans to address the segments' needs and accounts' needs and demands
  • Control and monitor S&M expenses and provide clear explanations during P&L meetings
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of the hotel daily services, activities, promotion, and event. Effectively communicate and update all team members on any changes to ensure guests receive up-to-date information
  • Handling complaints and resolving service 'Glitches', keep a record of all feedbacks under the appropriate system. Ensures that the issues are resolved in a timely manner to guests' satisfaction
  • Maintains strong working relationships with other departments to ensure effective communications for operational issues, serves as a role model for inter-departmental collaboration and support
  • Empower team members to take ownership and responsibility in going beyond to exceed guest expectations. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
  • Monitor performances team members and provide effective performance feedback for improvements, recognition and performance appraisal as due
  • Mentor and guide individual team members' growth and identify short to long-term goals to achieve and ensure high colleague engagement and welfare
  • Participate in recruitment activities such as interviewing new talents for the departments and succession planning
  • Take ownership of individual's growth and be involved in career progression and succession planning of team members
  • Proactively identify training needs of team members to ensure enhancement and performance improvement
  • Represent the customer needs to the rest of the hotel, and constantly identify and communicate potential new revenue opportunities to Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Develop strong community relations. Network in the local market, in the industry and professional organizations
  • Participate in tourism and entertainment networks.
TALENT PROFILE
  • Proven experience in international leisure sales within a luxury hotel or resort is a minimum requirement.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or department head role is strongly preferred, with a demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Clear and polished English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Additional language skills, German or French, are advantageous.
  • Strong commercial acumen with measurable success in building and executing sales strategies.
  • Ability to present a structured leisure sales plan framework during the interview process.
  • A relationship-driven leader with presence, professionalism, and the ability to represent Capella Hanoi internationally.
