Job Category: Hotel-SalesJob Description:Your day-to-dayPeopleDirect/Manage everyday activity, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbersDevelop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleaguesTrain colleagues to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards we expectDrive a great working environment for teams to thrive - linking up departments to create sense of one teamPromote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departmentsRecommend or initiate any HR elated actions where neededDevelop and set revenue sales and marketing strategies for both domestic and international MICE segment to maximize performance, drive RGI, profitability and return on investment by directing all sales activity and total revenue generation for the MICE segment.Ensure plans are implemented, results are monitored and sales goals through the regular sale of the resorts meeting rooms and food and beverage offerings.Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with corporate clients, DMC's and international PCO's.Coordinate and plan VIP site inspections and represent the resort at key tradeshows.Monitors competitors activities and assists in marketing intelligenceRefers sales leads to appropriate personnel within the InterContinental Hotels GroupServices existing business through management of account basesSell all facets of the hotelManage the corporate head office and the preferred hotel history for that companyDevelop and maintain a regular pattern of sales calls, meeting with principals of target marketProvides direction on, and conducts market research and analysisDevelops and maintains contact with business generators, meeting and convention planners, visitors/convention bureau, travel agents, tour operators, airlines, corporate accounts, Government Departments and other producers closely allied to Hotel businessBuilds profile within local market place through attendance at various events and local market placeConduct client interviewsEntertain clientsMaintain regular contact with the IHG hotels in your region and the regional reservation officeImplement direction from Director of Sales and Marketing and Director of SalesGuest ExperienceFocusing on all aspects from new business development, prospecting, pricing and conversion while working closely with the resorts operational team in developing memorable experiences for our guests.Assesses sales and marketing dataAssists with the preparation of new products and servicesAssists in the evaluation of sales and marketing activitiesLiaison with advertising agencyExecute advertising/creative briefs in a timely mannerResponsible BusinessPlay an integral part in creating a positive and productive work environment; building, motivating and leading an effective team that is highly engaged and delivers results.Plan and conduct familiarization tours and site inspectionsTravel when required to promote the hotel and develop potential businessMonitors existing business and inputs into sales strategy meetings to maximize businessGrows existing business and establishes and pursues leads which will develop businessInterfaces with operations on a timely basisInitiates and prepares tenders for businessAnalyses sales mix and likely impact on hotel goalsBe responsible in keeping our property safe and secure, to participate in any hotel activity related to Fire Life safety.Other ad-hoc duties - unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task doneMay also serve as manager on duty (MOD) on request.May assist with other duties as assigned by managementFinancialHelp create the department's annual budget and the setting of departmental goalsMonitor budget and control expenses with a focus on food, beverage, and labour costs….Sells to new, existing and prospective customers considering goals set forth in the sales strategy, negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the businessStock control of collateralCollateral input
