As a Senior Social Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting ERM’s social performance team in delivering high-quality Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) aligned with international standards. You will be actively involved in fieldwork, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and reporting, contributing to the successful execution of capital delivery projects across multiple geographies.Key ResponsibilitiesField Investigations & CoordinationLead and participate in social field investigations, including social scoping surveys, baseline data collection, and social impact assessments.Support the preparation of survey materials and stakeholder engagement tools.Coordinate and supervise subcontractors during field activities to ensure quality and compliance with ERM standards.Technical DevelopmentBuild expertise in social scoping, baseline assessments, and stakeholder engagement processes within the ESIA framework.Learn to identify and evaluate potential environmental and social impacts associated with industry-based projects.Reporting & DocumentationContribute to the development of comprehensive reports, including social baseline studies and social management plans.Ensure reporting aligns with international E&S standards and client expectations.Research & AnalysisProvide analytical support to the Capital Delivery Project team through research, data interpretation, and synthesis of findings.Assist in the integration of social data into broader environmental and sustainability assessments.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Social Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Gender Studies, Human Rights, Social Work, Development Studies, Social Planning, or Environmental Management.Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.Strong understanding of international Environmental and Social (E&S) standards, including IFC Performance Standards and the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework.Proven experience in fieldwork, stakeholder engagement, and managing social aspects of environmental assessments.Excellent coordination and communication skills, particularly in supervising subcontractors and engaging with local communities.Proficiency in data analysis and report writing, with attention to detail and clarity.Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams.Fluency in English, with demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication.Who We Are:As the world’s leading sustainability consulting firm, ERM is uniquely positioned to contribute to the environment and society through the expertise and energy of our employees worldwide.
