- Fully involved with local management team by providing technical input, solutions and options on improving productivity/efficiencies and product quality for area of responsibility
- Establish priorities for the overall facility & machine maintenance of function/department and works closely with the Plant Manager, and HR, Admin & Compliance Manager to ensure the effective utilisation of available resources
- Responsible for the process development to produce quality performs consistently and documenting BIC (Best in Class)
- Directly supervises the maintenance co-workers ensuring a motivated, skilled workforce. Assess skills, writes performance reviews and recommends and/or provides training to ensure department personnel are technically competent to maintain equipment in use at the facility
- Responsible for tracking expenditures and labour costs to ensure compliance with plant and department budgets.
- Seek bids on construction, alteration or installation work as required. Recommends contractors based on cost, workmanship, and completion dates. Administers such contracts and coordinates work performed to ensure expectations are met and contractors adhere to facility policies
- Responsible for the development, implementation, improvement and compliance of preventative maintenance programs. Ensure repair work is documented
- Responsible for compliance with state and local safety and health, environmental, building and fire ordinances and standards not limited to lockout, haz-com, machine guarding and waste disposal
- Actively participates in local safety programs and ensure maintenance team performs work in a safe manner.
- Check the efficiency of the machines by collecting information from the machine operators as well as check them personally
- Identify the problem areas and look for appropriate solutions to fix those problems and prevent the machines from deterioration
- Assist maintenance work carried out by the maintenance technicians and provide them necessary and efficient solutions
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedule and follow up to reduce machine down times due to break down
- Help the team in upgrading the equipment with efficient tools and in the allotted budget
- Keep a track of the all maintenance services provided and the up-gradations done and repeating the same after a set time span
- Compiling the safety norms related to the equipment and making sure that they are meeting the expected safety norms
- Playing an active role in recruiting the maintenance staff for the company
- Providing training to the team and helping them in maintenance issues
- Check quality standards and functionality of services and machines regularly
- Escalate any problems early and schedule repairs in order to minimise loss to business
- Conduct regular assessments and training to ensure safety of employees
- Analyse processes to ensure efficient functioning and perform analysis to make adjustments
- Bachelor degree in electrical engineering discipline preferred or equivalent knowledge and experience in a managerial role
- Five years industrial maintenance experience, preferably with printing industry experience
- Must have good working knowledge of high volume production machinery and facilities
- Would really help if the candidate has a technical of printing industry, five to seven years experience
- Should have ability to identify problems with the electronic systems and carry out their maintenance
- Basic knowledge of the heating, refrigerating, welding, plumbing and other electrical and carpentry work
