Join them in a workplace where innovation knows no bounds, creativity is celebrated, and every day is an opportunity to elevate together.Job SummaryReporting to the Technical Art Director, the Technical Designer is responsible for translating creative concept designs into finalised artworks, meticulously prepared for manufacturing or printing.This role entails seamless collaboration with diverse parties, including creative, operations, and various development teams, to bring projects to fruition in various forms. Considering comprehensive requirements from clients, creative teams, production, and operations, the Technical Designer harmoniously merges all elements to ensure the successful realization of each project.Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Foster strong collaboration and work closely with Production and Creative departments to understand art direction and requirements, translating them into feasible products.
  • Act as a bridge between the Creative team and the Production team, facilitating the seamless flow of design and ideas.
  • Take responsibility for the final artwork stage, developing 2D layouts for printing and production purposes.
  • Proactively anticipate problems, technical needs, and possess in-depth knowledge of how products are made.
  • Participate in pre-production and post-production by providing design specifications, visual support, evaluating samples for approval, creating packaging layouts, and capturing final product photos.
  • Ensure the accuracy of designs through meticulous drawing, sample, and artwork checking, meeting design criteria and specifications.
  • Maintain efficient working procedures to streamline processes.
  • Work under various client portfolios for career progression, determining design expertise. Senior positions may cover specific client portfolios based on requirements and expertise.
  • Uphold excellent individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) under creative divisional KPI settings.
  • Provide reliable support to team members and team leaders. In a senior position, offer strong support directly to team leaders and other team members.
Additional
  • Implementing collaboration and direct communication, especially with procurement teams and vendors, to ensure clarity and high accuracy in production outcomes.
  • Support the implementation of innovative solutions from hire-level by providing feedback and insights on new tools, techniques, and approaches to enhance the quality and effectiveness of outputs.
  • Provide engineering approach and assist in providing technical expertise in the long term by actively participating in upscaling and upgrading efforts within the organisation. This may involve contributing ideas for training programs, sharing best practices, and staying updated on industry advancements.
  • Participate in analysing workflow and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) for improvement. Provide input and suggestions to Technical Art Director to identify areas for enhancement, streamline processes, and optimise efficiency, productivity, and quality in the technical design process.
Skill, Experience & Qualification
  • Diploma/Degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Printing Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Applied Science Art & Design, or equivalent.
  • For entry-level positions, 1 or 2 years of related experience is a bonus, or open to fresh graduates. Senior positions require 2-4 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Proficiency in 3D Development software such as Rhinoceros & KeyShot.
  • Knowledge of colors, including Pantone, CMYK, and certain printing processes.
  • Knowledge or experience in manufacturing processes, materials, molding, or production.
  • Understanding of processing and producing Final Artwork.
  • Keen attention to detail in artworks and organizational skills for files and libraries.
  • Practicing a systematic approach in working procedures, communication, and documentation.
  • Good command in English and open to working onsite.
