Regional Product Development Engineer - Footwear (12 Months Contract)

- Supervise product creation process in a direct-to-factory environment where HQ Developers communicate directly to factory partners with the LLO Development Engineer playing a supporting role.
- Partner with multiple factory partners to streamline communication and standardize operating procedures.
- Utilize specialized experience to foresee potential development and engineering risks and use broad industry knowledge base to create mainline solutions.
- Utilize technical skills to review pattern files, validate bottom part 2D/3D for accurate execution, and obsess manufacturing efficiency.
- Adhere to predetermined timelines and gates, actively tracking progress and giving updates on agreed upon basis to HQ teammates.
- Review samples to ensure proper execution, quality and performance prior to shipping.
- Coordinate travel between factories in N. and S. Vietnam to accomplish the needs of individual styles and projects.
- Participate in the Buy Ready and Commercialization trials to ensure new styles are manufacturable and ready for production while meeting the highest quality standard.
- Drive opportunities for co-creation with vendors and external partners.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or directly related scientific discipline.
- 5-8 years minimum footwear industry experience in Development, Pattern Engineering, Tooling Engineering, Footwear Engineering and/or Manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of footwear construction and manufacturing as well as the end-to-end product life cycle
- Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and ability to apply this knowledge to product development and challenging technical problems.
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational skills as well as verbal & written communication skills proficient in Vietnamese and English (Chinese a plus)

- Can travel approximately 35% of the time.
