Head of Legal (Ecommerce)Key responsibilities
1. Legal Management & Compliance Support
  • Develop strategic plans for legal affairs from the perspective of the group's overall strategy. Take into account the legal needs of different business units (e.g., e-commerce platforms, MCN, knowledge-based services), and allocate legal resources appropriately to key strategic areas.
2. Contract Management & Review
  • Review contracts signed with suppliers, clients, logistics partners, and other parties to ensure the legal terms are reasonable, lawful, and capable of mitigating potential risks.
3. International Trade & Data Compliance
  • Ensure that cross-border import activities comply with local regulations, and monitor updates in local tax and policy frameworks in a timely manner.
4. Dispute Resolution
  • Participate in the resolution of commercial disputes and customer complaints, and handle legal proceedings when necessary.
5. Internal Control & Risk Management
  • Design and improve the company's internal control system to ensure that each department operates in compliance and to reduce operational risk.
  • Conduct regular audits of business processes, identify potential risks, and provide recommendations for improvement.
6. Policy Research & Risk Assessment
  • Continuously monitor changes in local laws, platform policies, and market environments to ensure timely adjustments in business strategies and operations.
7. Investment and Financing Legal Support
  • Participate in legal support for the company's investment and financing activities, including but not limited to investment agreements, due diligence, and compliance review of equity structures.
  • Assist in the legal review of financing documents and provide risk alerts to ensure legal compliance and effective risk control throughout the financing process.
8. Employee Training & Legal Support
  • Deliver training on compliance, intellectual property, data privacy, and internal control to enhance employees' awareness of legal risks.
  • Provide legal consultation and support to business departments to ensure efficient and compliant operations.
9. External Coordination & Communication
  • Manage legal matters involving external organizations and maintain communication with judicial authorities and relevant government departments.
Requirements
  • Education & Major: Bachelor's degree or above in Law or related disciplines.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with a background in e-commerce. Experience in building compliance systems from the ground up is a strong advantage.
  • Professional Skills:
  • Strong legal negotiation skills and professional network.
  • Excellent legal reasoning, along with strong abilities in analysis, issue handling, adaptability, and legal problem-solving.
  • Risk Management:
  • Sharp risk awareness and the ability to identify various legal risks that the group may face, including but not limited to contract risks, intellectual property risks, compliance risks, and litigation risks.
  • For instance, when reviewing major contracts, attention must be paid not only to the legality of the terms but also to potential legal risks during contract execution, such as force majeure or breach of contract by the counterparty.
  • Communication Skills: Fluent in English and able to use it as a working language.
