- Gather market intelligence through methods such as market surveys, attending trade shows, and engaging with company, dealer, and authorized sales channel personnel.
- Evaluate leads as assigned, conducting due diligence and fact-finding to produce reports that inform the organization's decision-making process.
- Perform proactive and reactive investigations into counterfeit selling/manufacturing of parts within the designated market.
- Support a network of investigators in addressing counterfeit activities.
- Coordinate third-party covert investigations and facilitate warranted enforcement actions.
- Provide expertise and assistance to local enforcement agencies and investigators.
- Act as the central point of contact for Investigators regarding case file management.
- Conduct proactive and reactive investigations into supplier unauthorized sales of client parts within the assigned market.
- Purchase parts and collaborate with the Brand Protection team and internal stakeholders for analysis.
- Develop comprehensive investigative reports.
- Issue Cease and Desist letters and written notifications to suppliers.
- Review and oversee supplier sales disclosures.
- Conduct supplier meetings and participate in negotiations for settlement and financial recovery.
- Draft Settlement Agreements between suppliers and clients.
- Investigate diverted and parallel parts within the assigned market.
- Utilize customs reports to identify importers and sources of diverted goods.
- Conduct dealer surveys to assess dealer purchasing practices.
- Investigate original sources and distribution channels.
- Provide support to field operations and warranty operations in part sales verification.
- Maintain a database for all investigations and generate internal reports for high-level case recaps.
- Represent client brands with anti-counterfeiting associations and support regional initiatives.
- Assist with marketing initiatives to promote genuine original equipment parts.
- Serve as the main liaison with customs and other government enforcement agencies.
- Assist in the development of special projects, as required.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Sociology, International Trade, Law, Political Science, Market Research, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of investigative experience in IP/Brand Protection, Customs, or Law Enforcement preferred.
- Fluency in English and Vietnamese.
- Familiarity with investigation techniques is advantageous.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Regular use of computers.
- Occasional lifting of small objects and operation of office equipment.
- Must be flexible to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel may be required.
